These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings made with Muses Travel. By completing a reservation, you confirm that you and all accompanying guests accept these Terms as fully binding.
1. Booking, Payments and Confirmation
To secure a reservation, a deposit of twenty-five to thirty percent (25–30%) of the total accommodation cost is required. Payments are made by bank transfer or via credit card through Eurobank’s secure LivePay system. Muses Travel does not collect or store card details.
After the deposit is received, you will receive a Booking Confirmation and Rental Agreement including all reservation details, balance payments and property information.
For bookings made fewer than thirty (30) days before arrival, full payment may be required at the time of booking.
The remaining balance is due when the free cancellation period ends, typically thirty (30) days before arrival. Bank charges and currency exchange differences are the responsibility of the guest.
2. Cancellation Policy, Changes and Refunds
Standard Cancellation Policy
- More than 30 days before arrival: Full refund.
- 29 to 14 days before arrival: 50% refund.
- Less than 14 days before arrival: No refund.
A cancellation is valid only when Muses Travel receives written notice by email. Phone or text must always be followed by email confirmation.
No-Show, Early Departure, Adverse Conditions
- No-Show: Charged 100% of the confirmed stay.
- Early Departure: Charged 100% of the remaining nights unless Muses Travel secures a replacement booking within 72 hours through advertising on at least three booking platforms. If rebooked, the guest receives a 70% refund of unused nights. Proof of advertising efforts is available upon request. This charge reflects the estimated loss of rental income due to the inability to re-let the property on short notice and is limited to the actual financial loss suffered, in accordance with Article 288 of the Greek Civil Code.
- Adverse Weather/Travel Conditions: Strong winds, storms, airport delays, ferry bans or flight cancellations do not qualify for refunds, except for refundable Force Majeure events.
Reservation Changes & “Shift-and-Cancel”
Any revision (dates, duration, property) is subject to availability and may be treated as a cancellation and new reservation.
If the new dates are later cancelled, the cancellation penalties of the original booking period apply.
This applies only when the request for the date change originates from the guest. If Muses Travel proposes alternative dates for operational reasons, the cancellation policy of the new dates applies.
Non-Refundable Fees
Booking deposits, bank fees, credit card surcharges and currency exchange losses are non-refundable.
Government Taxes
The Climate Resilience Tax, calculated per night/per property, is not included in rental prices and must be paid directly upon arrival.
3. Use of Property and Guest Obligations
The property is offered exclusively for personal lodging. Commercial use, professional photography, events, retreats, weddings, parties or any activity disturbing neighbours is prohibited unless approved in writing.
- Occupancy: Only guests listed in the Booking Confirmation may stay overnight. Excess occupancy may result in immediate termination without refund.
- Damage Responsibility: Guests are liable for all proven damages or losses caused by negligence or willful misconduct.
- Smoking: Outdoors only.
- Subletting: Strictly prohibited.
Guests must comply with all applicable Greek laws, including noise regulations, quiet hours (15:00–17:30 and 23:00–07:00), and local safety rules.
4. Safety, Children and Pool Use
Pools and facilities comply with Greek Tourism Organization standards. Guests use all facilities at their own risk.
- Children must be supervised at all times. Children under 12 are not permitted in pools or hot tubs without adult supervision.
- Diving is strictly prohibited.
- Muses Travel and property owners are not liable for accidents, injuries or illnesses except in cases of proven gross negligence.
- Accepting keys and entering the property constitutes confirmation that the guest has inspected the premises and found them safe and suitable. Any defects must be reported within 24 hours of arrival.
5. Cleaning and Housekeeping
Arrival and departure cleaning are included. Intermediate cleaning follows each property’s policy.
If the property does not meet expected cleanliness on arrival, guests must inform Muses Travel within 24 hours for corrective action.
6. Maintenance, Utilities and Property Standards
Temporary interruptions to electricity, water, internet or municipal services may occur due to infrastructure limitations. Muses Travel is not responsible for such outages.
Guests must report maintenance issues immediately. Issues reported only on departure cannot be compensated retrospectively.
7. Access to the Property
The owner or authorised representative may enter the property to perform maintenance, repairs, pool care or inspections, with respect for guest privacy.
8. Pets
Pets are accepted only in designated properties and only with prior written approval. Additional cleaning costs or rules may apply.
9. Force Majeure
Muses Travel is not liable for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, wars, epidemics, strikes, fires, floods or major transport disruptions.
Refundable Force Majeure Events
The following qualify for partial refund upon proof submitted within seven (7) days:
- Death or serious illness of guest or immediate family
- Government-imposed travel bans to the destination
- Natural disasters at the destination
In such cases, a 70% refund of the total amount paid is provided.
Refunds under Force Majeure are provided in accordance with Articles 2 and 8 of Greek Law 2251/1994 and EU Directive 2015/2302. Where mandatory consumer protection law grants additional rights to the guest, these rights prevail.
10. Third-Party Services
Muses Travel may recommend services by independent providers (chefs, transfers, activities). These providers operate independently. Muses Travel is not responsible for performance, cancellations or pricing.
11. Liability Cap
Muses Travel’s total liability for any claim is limited to the total booking value paid by the guest.
This limitation does not apply to death or personal injury resulting from proven gross negligence.
12. Data Protection & GDPR Compliance
By accepting these Terms, you acknowledge that Muses Travel processes your personal data, including ID/Passport details required by Greek law.

- Data Breach Notification: In case of personal data breach, Muses Travel will notify authorities and affected individuals within 72 hours, in accordance with Article 33 GDPR.
- GDPR Rights: All rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection apply.
- ID/Passport Minimisation: ID/Passport details are stored only in encrypted form, with strictly limited access, and deleted immediately once retention is no longer legally required.
- International Transfers: Muses Travel conducts a Transfer Impact Assessment (TIA) for all international data transfers and applies supplementary safeguards pursuant to the Schrems II decision.
- Full Policy: See Privacy Policy. GDPR always prevails in case of conflict.
13. Severability
If any provision is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms remain fully valid.
14. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
This agreement is governed exclusively by Greek Law.
Disputes shall be resolved exclusively by the Courts of Rethymno, Crete.
EU/EEA consumers may rely on mandatory consumer protection provisions of their country of residence.
